Human Rights Committee

Regarding the Human Rights Committee - Sweden:

"The State party should take further steps to involve the Sami in the decisions concerning the natural environment and necessary means of subsistence for the Sami People."

"The Committee is concerned about de facto discrimination against the Sami in legal disputes, since the burden of proof for land ownership has been placed wholly on Sami claimants".
